"Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed, sloth - "the Seven Deadly Sins" of the Christian tradition.
In Truth in Uncertainty there is no conception of "sin" - a transgression against an absolutist moral code that has an impact on your eternal destiny.
The seven sins are emotions we all experience at times. They are some of our many behavioural drivers and an inescapable part of human nature.
Anger is not always inappropriate or harmful. Lust can be nice. Why not be proud of an achievement?
But if lust for example defines you, you are in trouble. Or, get too angry and your opponent will gain the upper hand.
It is a question of degree. When any or several of the seven sins become your dominant characteristics you are limiting your ability to realise your full potential over the full course of your life.
Resist being dominated by any of the seven sins. Do not over-indulge them though they come naturally. Deny yourself judiciously and you will benefit immediately.
Use the Buddhist technique of Mindfulness to pull yourself back into balance when you are spinning out.
